Passionate about rural electrification, Matthew found his calling with power systems while studying at the Naval Academy and Naval Nuclear Power School. Navy ships have very reliable off-grid power systems, so he started his microgrid career while living and working aboard them. Since then, he has also worked on microgrid projects that provide power to people all over the world including those located in the arctic circle, Rwanda, and Aruba. He won’t stop until everyone has access to the internet. Outside of work, you will most likely find him in the pool with his family, in the woods on his mountain bike, or in his kitchen cooking something improvised from whatever is in the pantry.
