Michele Nesbit was born and raised in Grass Valley. After graduating with honors from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science & Engineering, Michele returned home in 2012 to break into the renewable energy storage industry as an off-grid system designer. She quickly transitioned into the role of Director of Operations for two solar companies and gained extensive practical knowledge in construction, solar, energy storage, and operational management. In 2020, Michele obtained her California Class A Engineering Construction License, and is the current RMO for BoxPower’s license. She is a 2019 Halcyon Fellow and 2020 Global Good Fund Fellow. In her spare time, Michele is an active member in local theatre, a volunteer tutor, and overall creative person dedicated to supporting the arts and education.
