James S. “Jamie” Rubin is Chief Investment Officer at Aligned Climate Capital, an asset manager investing in companies and real assets driving the clean energy transition. He oversees the firm’s investment strategy, deploying capital into climate-focused companies and infrastructure to deliver strong financial returns.
Previously, Jamie spent two decades in the private sector, including as a partner at private equity firms One Equity Partners and BC Partners. Most recently, Jamie served as CEO of Meridiam NA, managing a $1.2 billion infrastructure fund dedicated to large-scale public-private partnerships. His leadership was instrumental in landmark projects, including the development of LaGuardia Terminal B, the Miami Beach monorail, and the Purple Line extension of the D.C. Metro.
Jamie has also been a senior government official, holding key roles in New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s administration, including leading the Office of Storm Recovery, where he directed the disbursement of $4.4 billion in federal disaster recovery funds following Superstorm Sandy. Earlier, he served as New York Director for President Obama’s Hurricane Sandy Task Force and as a Senior Advisor to HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan.
Jamie is Chairman of the Board of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He holds a B.A. from Harvard University and a J.D. from Yale Law School. He is based in the New York office.
